Complicated Life..? Follow These Two Ideas

Standard

From: My Experience

Like everyone in the world, I also want to celebrate and live a very simple life. So here the question starts:-

How to live a very simple life or how to avoid complicated life situations..? This question made me to think about my past experiences where I felt my life was complicated and tough, finally I could find and summarize all those ways to simplify the life by just following two ideas in life

  1. Take A Break
  2. Make Room For What You Really Love

Take A Break:- It means, avoid the stuffs that squeeze your energy and spirit. In most of the complicated life we can see that they are always in tie up with the things that they don’t really need. This means take a break from:-

  • Negative people: One of the main reason for complicated life is because of the unhealthy relationship with people around us. Just let them go if they only spread negative energy and emotions and if possible wipe out the memories too.
  • Changing others: Nobody can change anyone without there willingness, so stop trying to change people who never willing to simplify there life.
  • Overtime work: Are we working for the living or living for working..? Think about it and ensure that you get enough breathing time to spent with the people and to do the things that you like to do.
  • Online presence: The modern trend, just take a break for sometime from the social and other online media, and try to find the time to make real friends. There are people who desperately looking for the status updates of others and the notification symbol to pop up. I believe you will definitely get enough time to do what you love.
  • Over expressing: Never show your emotions and feelings to those who don’t deserve it, you will feel exhausted so take a break from showing your feelings to everyone. Be selective and make it better.
  • Untidy rooms: The youngsters special, it is quite true that the place where we spent the time should be neat and comfortable or you will feel messy everywhere even in your daily routine. Take a break from messing up your room.
  • Being diplomatic: Diplomatic people never enjoy a relaxed life because they don’t know how to say “NO”, the single word that can minimize most of the issues. Try to say when you don’t like something, people will respect you and they will change the way they see you.

Make Room For What You Really Love: Always find the time to live for what you love. If you find your passion, no more you will work but you will start living a life that you really love. Identify what makes you happy, energetic, comfortable, freshness and feel special, so make a room for the following:-

  • The people: Spent time with the people who care for you, who loves you and they think you are important to them. It will give you the best life even if you don’t have anything else.
  • The passion: Always give the room for passion; without passion you will never happy with your work, career and life. Follow your passion, you will find the hardest thing like the easiest one. If photography is your passion, do it and spent time, you will get the best soon or later.
  • Simple celebration: Never miss a chance to celebrate your life. Celebrate your birthday, celebrate the hangouts with your friends, make each day a celebration by finding happiness in even the smallest thing and finally you will witness a life with simplicity and happiness.
  • Dream: Find the time to dream what you love and like, slowly and slowly you are making the path easier. The more you dream, the more you enjoy your life.

More than everything believe “Nobody can create a simple life unless and until they try…”.

“Design your life and live in your passion…”

Why Entrepreneurs Fail..?

Standard
From: My Own

2014 – 15 a new business year for all entrepreneurs, so before planning for the next year let’s have a small review about why most of the budding and growing entrepreneurs fail in their business. This article is just to reshape our views and vision about the business that we run today and the businesses that we are going to  start in future.

We can see, most of the billionaires were started their business from a scratch and now they are enjoying the value of their brand and they are growing and growing, at the same time there are entrepreneurs who are burning out because of loss and frustration in the business.

So why entrepreneurs fail even though they invest their time and effort in their business..?

1. Survival Driven- (Trying to make money before creating value):- This is one of the most difference between successful and failed entrepreneurs. Successful entrepreneurs always give importance on creating value than making immediate profit.

Wealth is a result of consistently providing solutions to the problems of humanity. If you doubt me, go ask Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Mark Zuckerberg and the likes. These are people who simply followed their passion (purpose driven) rather than following money (survival driven) and yet made a great fortune. (from Mr. Philip)

2. Lack of Business IQ (No proper planning and preparation):- The quest for making a business sometimes results in learning zero knowledge about the industry and the business. To grow a business the businessmen should learn day by day about the changing trends in the industry, people and the style.

I would tell an example: In a motivational training class, a man asked to the speaker “My industry is filled with bargaining customers and I could make only very minimum profit. So how can I make a better business..? The speaker told him you made a better profit in the beginning of your business but you were blind in analyzing the changes in the industry, you could have started a diversification when you felt the changes in the industry.” (Thanks to one of my clients).

This is sometimes happening, getting knowledge will help you to take right decision at right time.

3. Lack of focus (Wandering here and there): – This is the another difference, successful business people would have a focus and they invest their time and effort to nurture that special area. Take an example of Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg  etc all those people have the focus.

“genius is the ability to focus on one particular thing for a long time without losing concentration.”

So when you start or run a business, try to focus on the area where you can excel and never go for a randomized business before you got a clear path.

4. Risk Averse (Fear of Failure) : – This is one of the most challenging thing. Successful business people are ready to take challenges, they see opportunities in every risk and challenges, and that is why they are remembered and successful. But failed entrepreneurs lack this quality

If you are passionate in doing business, you never mind you challenges, risk or anything, you will do it. So have a passion about your business. You can be free from risk averse by improving your business knowledge, passion and focus also by concentrating on the end result.

5. Poor Money Management (Extravagance) : – Manage your money, never let the money to manage you. Successful entrepreneurs are good in money management, they know where to invest and when to harvest their investment, like Warren Buffet’s words “Never invest in a business you can’t understand.”

Always remember that there are ups and downs, you should be prepared to meet the unexpected.

6I can do well all by myself (Insecurity) : There is a limit to what an individual can achieve alone, thus the need for team work. Successful people know what to hold and what to delegate, so entrepreneurs should encourage team work and you should act as a leader and a guide.

“Together Towards Success…” follow the line literally, you will enjoy the happiness and success.

So, you must get rid of any insecurity and every scarcity mentality you might have that someone is going to beat you to it. There are many things that are unknown to you, so you should seek help from your team, may be from outside consultants etc, this is how business grows.

7. Lack of Vision (The shortsightedness) : – “Vision is the reason for your existence”, never start or run a business without vision or with shortsightedness, the business will sink somewhere. The businessmen should be clear about his path and the end result, then only the business can move forward.

So, it is the high time that you need to have a vision for your business and life and let the vision shows the value that you are going to provide.

“Let the business speaks about you rather than you speak about the business…”

What do we need..? A Transformation or a Change..?

Standard

From: My Own

Change: Scientifically it is “become different.. but for me it is ” a reversible process where nothing is permanent..“… it is like seasons, there is no permanent change, if there is spring then it will change to summer after a short duration, there everything is for a short time and change can be reversible too.

Transformation: Scientifically it is “a marked change in form, nature, or appearance..” but for me it is “An irreversible change from one stage to a better new stage…” Its like the transformation of caterpillar to beautiful butterfly, where there is no coming back.

Why do we need a transformation..?

The answer is very simple, we all are not living as like we live in our dreams also we miss the passion to live the way we really want. This is why we sometimes feel exhausted and frustrated, so we need a transformation from this level to something new and better level where we can enjoy the success and the failures too…

Is it possible to transform ourselves..?

Well, we don’t need to talk about theories of transformations, let’s take some real examples of people who transformed their life.

1. Judge Mathis

A real example for personal life transformation (Street gang to superior court judge)

Judge Greg Mathis was a member of the notorious Detroit street gang, the Errol Flynns. At age 17, he was incarcerated after being arrested several times. After his release, Mathis went to college where he became a campus activist; and he was later elected a superior court judge for Michigan’s 36th District.

2. Harland David Sanders (KFC)

A real example of business life transformation (Failure to Success)

Harland David Sanders, the famous KFC “Colonel,” couldn’t sell his chicken. More than 1,000 restaurants rejected him. But then one did, and today there are KFC restaurants bearing his image all over the world.

3. Richard Grasso

Richard Grasso © Daniel Acker/Bloomberg/Getty Images

A real example for professional life transformation (floor clerk to Chairman of NYSE)

The New York Stock Exchange’s high-powered executive kicked off his career in 1968, when he was hired as a floor clerk in the exchange’s mailroom. At the time of his retirement, he was the chairman of the New York Stock Exchange

So all the above mentioned examples are proven that the transformation is possible in all the areas of our life. But would have happened if all the above examples were just a change..? Ohhh.. !!

How can we transform our life and achieve the three levels of success..?

Its true that we can divide out life into three levels, that can help us to focus exactly where we need the transformation. The following are the three levels:

  1. Personal: Here is your happiness lies
  2. Profession: Here is your growth lies
  3. Business: Here is your success lies

The process of transformation starts from a determination “I Want To Transform…”. Yes, if you want transform your life to the level that you dream always, you need to take it in your heart and you need to find out your passion; the ultimate thing that makes you feel happiness, success and everything.

I would say, set realistic targets in each of the three levels and be committed to it, you will feel that your life is transforming. Only a daily habit can make a transformation, so change your habit.

Follow the things that mentioned below:-

1. Personal life: Make a new daily habit, nothing can transform you  until you  take a daily implementation. For example drink more water to reduce your weight, smile at people, read books to expand your knowledge, take things positively by saying positive things, keep commitments, try to say NO when it needed etc. These simple habits can change your personal life.

2. Professional Life: Keep professional commitments, prepare well, always give more than expected, grab the opportunity, squeeze your knowledge and aim to earn experience. Have a clean focus on these and do things that can take you to these areas.

3. Business Life: Always ensure that three people are with you; a visionary (may be you), a strategist and an executioner. Business life will be a success when you have these three people with you. To transform you business believe in the following:-

SAVE (S- Solution, A- Accessibility, V- Value and E- Educate)

Whatever be the business, it should address all the factors that mentioned above. SAVE is the key to transform your business life.

So “transform your life and live as you live in your dream…”

10 Things to Design Your Life and to Live In Your Passion

Gallery

“If you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it…”

Its true that many of the people are existing but not living their life but why? There is no life if you don’t have a passion.

Its proven that we are the designers of out life as great people said “You are the product of your thoughts..”. Here, in this article I just listing down some points that can change your life; it can help you to “design your life and live in your passion..”.

1- Let go of the stuff that pulls back you from achieving your dream, desire and life that you are dreaming

Today is the day, where I challenge YOU to look deep within yourself and ask yourself a hard question;

What or who, in your life, do you need to let go of in order to cleanse out anger, frustration, emotional pain, sorrow, fear, negative thoughts etc?

Yes, its true that we all carry many things that we don’t need actually but we are not realizing that such things are squeezing your energy, make you feel tired, will let you down always when you want to do something.

ERASE all those thoughts, stuffs, people from your mind and life and start a new life that you are dreaming. Life needs a cleansing to start a new day.

2-Forgive yourself: Stop regretting about the past and start dreaming for the future

Many people, sometimes including me also regret about the past things, one thing is sure that we cannot change the past; so always think “past is past and lost is lost..”.

Make a decision to forgive yourself and move on – shift your focus from what you did not do; to what you can do now and in the future.

3- Identify the stuff that makes you happy and spent time for that and set it as the high priority thing in your life

All are wandering unnecessarily to get happiness, peace and comfort. Be quite for sometime and think about each and every moment that made you happy and from that choose the best thing and set it as your catalyst for happiness.

For example:

Spending time with your loved ones

– Listen your favorite music

– Take a day out

– Enjoy the solitude

Give much of your time to nurture things that make you happy than wasting time for unnecessary things.

4-  Action oriented attitude= success

People take resolutions but most of them are not trying for that. Have a quick review on your past year targets and achievements, in most of the cases you might see no result. so,

You either take action towards your goals or you don´t – there´s no in between! There´s no trying.

Being action oriented also means that you stop over-thinking things (because that´s not action), you look at the situation, make a quick decision to do what´s best – and then go take care of it!

Don’t let anything stand in your way, be proud of who you are and the decisions you make!

5- Prioritize what really matters and let go of the rest:- make room for what you really want

You can design your life by choosing what you want in your life but for that you need to make room for that, which means you should prioritize things that matters.

Always do things that meet your happiness and passion; never give your time and energy for what you don’t like to do and follow. Say “NO” without any hesitation and move fast.

6-Find your power quote and get inspired by that

Finding a power or making your own quote will give the energy and inspiration for achieve things in your life.

I defined my own power quote and that gives me some kind of fuel when i think of it. hmm. my quote is the following:-

“Designing my life and living in my passion…”

Really the above quote is from my heart and I trust the words in that, especially the word passion. So find your own quote and try to achieve the real life.

7-Raise your standards and enjoy the quality of life

Its not a marketing theme or something like that; its purely means setting up of higher standards in your life.

For eg. there is a hidden fact ‘people always unconsciously notice your shoes while you coming, so wear nice shoes..‘ . In this it tells, raise your standards in the following areas of life:-

– Physical and grooming (buy one or two branded things, you will see that people notice you..)

– Communication and approach (talk with full clarity, good eye contact etc)

– Professional (always provide more than expected, speak abot something new in discussions etc)

– Social (raise your attachment and make others feel your presence)

8- Identify your passion and break the rules for achieve that (only if needed)

The only person who can define your limit is YOU. So now break the rules and boundaries that you set in you mind and explore the real life.

You don’t need to obey the rule that pulls back you from achieving your dreams and life. So Break It!!

9- You weren’t born to be perfect, you were born to be yourself

“Perfectionism is always end in frustration…”

Never be a perfectionist, if you are, you will never be comfortable and satisfied.

Accept who you are and believe that no one replace your seat. If you do things with your full capacity, that itself is enough to achieve you want in your life.

Follow the three rules:-

1. Acknowledge your flaws instead of trying to hide them -ultimately you’ll gain more respect

2. Acknowledge your flaws instead of trying to hide them  ultimately you’ll gain more respect

3. Start with what you have – don´t wait for things to be perfect

10- Trust your heart and do what you love

Finally do what you love..

You don’t need to convince anyone, do things that you love but ensure that others are not affected by you. Without passion you cannot do things at its fullest, you cannot love what you do. So find your passion and live with that.

If you are passionate in doing things that you love:

– you will never feel tired and boring

-you will create wonders

– there won’t be any excuses

“Design your life and live in your passion…”

10 Things: The Life Taught Me…

Standard

From: My Life (Abin c Pascal)

Play the moments, pause the memories, stop the pain, and rewind the happiness

 …Mary Ann

 1.       Education: It is for sharing and using not to keep as a safe thing in your pocket

Education: the base of a quality life. Education is not only getting the knowledge but it is all about sharing and using that in practical life. A man with a bundle of unused and unshared knowledge is like a man with a big jar of wine but not tasting and sharing it. It is worth nothing but wasting the space. Always share what you have and use it. The people will say that you are a leader and a consultant.

2.       Career: If you go for experience and knowledge, career will be lucrative and full of excitements

It a common illusion we turn our career into a cash plowing field in the beginning itself, it is a great mistake!!! Always follow you passion to choose your career and in the starting we will be facing liters and liters of difficulties but if you give your focus only on your experience and knowledge, soon you will be plowing tons and tons of benefits from your career. You will get the moneyfame and strength automatically. So focus on your passionknowledge and experience.

3.       Being positive is always gives you pleasure

Positive the word itself gives some positive energy. When I was starting my career as a management consultant, the challenges were high but now I am enjoying the job like anything and I am passionate about this job. See everything as a symbol of positive energy you will find no challenges but opportunities.

4.       Creating impact on others will make you remembered forever

“IMPACT”: When we say the word, we can feel the pressure and strength of it. Anybody can live in the world but at the end of the day people will remember only those who created some impact over their lives and such people are remembered foreverAlways ensure that your job, your character, your presence and your love has made some kind of impact on others. This is the only reason people feel void when they miss somebody. Think about it, think about the people who are in contact with you and think about the changes that they made only because of your presence, if there is it means you live in their minds

5.       Attitude matters- It’s a choice

Attitude is the only thing that matters in the new world. Attitude means the way you see the challenges as opportunities, the way you learn failure as the lesson of success, the way you behave when you are in the top position, the way you mind people when you have everything in your hand. From my consulting experience, I interviewed more than 1500 candidates and the major factor that I measured was the attitude of them. A good attitude will take you to the top level even if you are on the ground.

6.       Rectifying mistakes at right time will be valued more than a success

Mistakes!!! It is not at all a mistake if you rectify it at the right time. Always accept the mistakes that you have done and rectify it at the right time, then people will respect and your mistakes will not be counted. Learn from each mistake and teach others and improve yourself and never repeat the same again.

7.       Priority is the only thing that makes you win the game

Life is all about priorities, everything that you do is unknowingly prioritized by your mind and brain. If you don’t prioritize the life will no longer go like you dream, so always prioritize things that you like and follow that. In other words prioritizing is a common sense that helps you to understand what is more important to you.

8.       Love can change everything

Love the only thing that nobody can define properly, but it’s a feelLove and impact are highly co-related. When you love somebody, only the positive impact can make him/her love you back. It can change anything, it can break any rules and boundaries that mankind defined. If the impact of your love is high and deep then you will feel the changes around you, people will start feeling void in your absence.

9.       Solitude will help you to find yourself if you take it positively

Everybody feels that solitude or being alone is dark but for me it is the situation that helps me to discover the things in me. When I am alone I don’t have any boundaries in expressing what I feel then and there, I could go anywhere I wish to go, I could dream without any disturbances and I could talk to myself  and many more. All these things would shape the character of mine. So believe solitude can brings you better thoughts and realizations. Try at least once and you will explore who you are and what you want in your life.

10.   Creating great memories give you mesmerizing moments…always

Creating great memories is the place where everything come together, love, impact, passion and life. I have learned that great memories are always come from great love and passion because the impact of those two things will be remembered and live forever. Think anybody who is contact with you, a name will come like a swift, it only because they have made an impact and that you remember every time when you think about them. These moments are called mesmerizing moments that make you feel special every time.  Yes, I feel the great memories….

Article written by Abin c Pascal

Life: a very simple word but complicated to define. Only the one who can create an impact on others will be remembered forever and that’s why life is so important. It is not to just live but to make others feel that you are living.

Why Learning…?

Learning is a lifelong process where you get to know many things that are absolutely fresh to you but necessary for you. When you have the attitude to learn what life teaches you, you are the person who designs your own life. Learning can help you to:-

  • See things in a big picture
  • Let people follow you rather than you follow them
  • Take everything in a positive way
  • Make a better life with the experience that you have

Why Loving..?

Love: there is no reason for love, if there is, it won’t be love. Always understand, you cannot love anyone for a reason; if there is a reason then it is called ‘like’. At the end of the day people counts how you loved them, how you care for them and what impact that you have made on them..? So love without any limits and regrets and break everything that stands against it, finally love your own life and celebrate it like a festival. Love in life is:-

  • To make life more live
  • To feel special in each and every moment
  • To transform everything around you

Why Passion..?

Passion: is something like addiction and you never find satisfaction without it. If you have the passion in doing things, you never mind getting any return out of that, you never care about the time, you never feel frustrated but you feel full of energy and enthusiasm. So have a passion in your life and make it as your life.

  • Full of energy and enthusiasm when doing things
  • No worry about time, benefit and risk
  • Each time you will cherish about what you have accomblished

I would say

“When you find your passion you find the meaning of your life…”

Celebrate your life with LLP and make a transformation in the way you are living your life…

How to find out your passion and live in it…?

From wiki- Edited by Abin c Pascal

“Don’t worry about what the world needs.  Ask what makes you come alive and do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” ~Howard Thurman

Method 1 of 3: Brainstorm

1- Think about what you love to do. To find your passion, you should first take a look at your own life and see if you’re already doing something that you love — but just not doing it very often. Figuring out what you really love to do and channeling it in a productive way that turns it into a passion can help you explore your heart’s desires. Here are some of the things you should ask yourself when you brainstorm what you love to do:

  • What are my goals?
  • If I could do one thing for the rest of my life, what would it be?
  • What do I love to do?
  • What would I do, even if I didn’t get paid to do it?
  • What makes me feel like nothing else exists?
  • What activity makes me feel completely in my element?

2- Think about what you’ve always dreamed of doing. This is different from making a list of all of the things that make you happy. Here, you’ll have to write down all of those things you’ve always dreamed about, but haven’t done because you don’t have the time, the money, or because they’re impractical or even slightly scary. Here are the questions you should ask yourself as you brainstorm what you’ve always dreamed of doing:

  • What is the one thing I have always dreamed about, but never got to do?
  • What did I want to do when I was a child?
  • Do I have an impractical dream that I once abandoned?
  • Is there something I’ve been afraid to try because it takes me out of my comfort zone?
  • Is there something I’ve been wanting to do but haven’t done because of financial fears?
  • Is there something I’ve always wanted to do but haven’t tried because I’ve been afraid I’d fail or just not be very good at it?
  • Is there something that someone I know does that thrills me?

3- Create a game plan. Once you’ve written down the answers to your questions, you may have a better idea of the type of things that already interest you or the things that you’ve always wanted to try. Now that you have a bit more information, you can create a plan for finding your passion. Here are some things you can decide to do:

  • Make a goal of trying at least five things on your list. Plug them into your calendar. Make a plan for actually doing these things as soon as you can, even that means within a year, if the activities are more complicated, like traveling to a foreign country.
  • Make a goal of trying a few completely new things that take you out of your comfort zone. They don’t have to be on your list — you can just try a few more things that pique your interest, even if you haven’t necessarily always dreamed of doing them or tried them before.
  • Prioritize your potential passions. Decide which things you’d like to try first. You can try the ones that sound most intriguing first, or you can try the most practical ones first.

Method 2 of 3: Use Your Interests to Your Advantage

1- Turn a beloved hobby into a full-time passion. If there’s already something in your life that fills you with excitement, joy, and self-worth, then you should try to turn that hobby or activity into a full-time endeavor. Though it may scare you to make a big life change, if you know there’s something you already love, then you should spend more time pursuing it to see if it’s your passion.

  • Your hobby could be anything, from ceramics, painting, or poetry, to teaching yoga or screen printing.
  • If you can’t make money with your passion (like running marathons, for example), then you can find a way to make that hobby the central passion of your life by getting involved in the running world in some other way.
  • You can transition slowly into spending more time doing your favorite hobby to see if it’s your passion. If you’re afraid to drop everything and devote yourself to this hobby full time, then take baby steps. First, spend the entire weekend pursuing your hobby. If this makes you realize how much you love it, then spend the whole next week pursuing your hobby. After that, you can see if you want to spend all of your time devoted to this activity.

2- Rekindle a childhood passion. You may feel like your life has become too routine or boring for you to have time for dreams and passions, but there must have been a point in your life when you had a real dream to pursue something courageous and exciting. Think back to your childhood self, and the things you used to dream about when you were a kid or even an adolescent. See if you can find a way to transform these dreams into a passion.

  • If you always wanted to be an astronaut, then maybe this idea doesn’t appeal to you quite as much anymore. But think about why the idea appealed to you in the first place — maybe because it involved exploring space, science, or adventure — and see if you can find a new passion out of that.
  • Be brave. If you wanted to be a singer or an actress, it’s never too late to try to fulfill your dreams.
  • Unfortunately, you may have to take a practical approach in some cases. If you wanted to be an Olympic gymnast when you were ten and you’re forty now, it’s unlikely that there’s a gold medal in your future. But if you were once really passionate about gymnastics, see if you can involve yourself in it in some other way, such as being a trainer, coach, or being involved at a gym in some capacity.
  • If you were lucky enough to keep a journal when you were younger, go through it. See what passions sparked your fancy, and what dreams you wrote about again and again.

3- Combine your talents. Maybe you have more than one talent, like doing tricks on a BMX, and you love to write. Could you see yourself writing books on BMX riding and tricks, or true stories about how those riders started out doing what they love? Here are a few other ways to combine your talent:

  • Maybe you love to write poetry as well as interpretive dance; could you interpret one of your poems, or write a poem about your love for dance?
  • If you’re a talented writer, make the most of your writing skills. If you love something, blogging about it or making a website about it will help you share your passion, use your writing skills, and develop your love for what you’re doing.
  • If you have a passion for languages and an unrelated field, such as animal rights, see if you can use your language skills to work as a translator or interpreter in that field.

4- Do the thing you’ve always dreamed about. No matter how gutsy, risky, or impractical that thing may be, you should work hard to make your dream a reality. Who knows — maybe you’ll try salsa dancing and will realize its not the thing for you, or you’ll travel to the Galapagos Islands and will feel uninspired. But it’s more likely that by being brave and doing the thing you’ve always dreamed about, you’ll be lighting that spark that ignites you.

  • Be determined to pursue your dream, in spite of practical and financial constraints. Make a plan that allows you to try your dream out, even if it’s only for a little while. It could take a while to save up to pursue this dream or to make the proper arrangements, but it will be worth it.
  • If you’re afraid to try the new thing, like climbing to the top of a mountain, ask your friends for their support. You don’t have to try something new and scary alone.
  • Start talking about what you’re going to do before you do it. If you really wanted to build your own treehouse, start telling everyone about it. This will get you closer to making your dreams a reality. You’ll be less likely to back down if everyone knows you want to pursue your dreams.

Method 3 of 3: Try New Things

1- Try a new sport. You may not know it, but your true passion could be mountain biking or archery. Though you may think you only like to go jogging once in a while, you’ll never know what your true passion is until you try. Trying a new sport will get your adrenaline running, will make you more excited about the world, and will also be a great form of exercise. If you find you really love this sport, you can end up being a teacher, a coach, or even start sharing your love for the sport with devoted followers online. Here are some things to try:

  • Dancing. Take a class in salsa, ballroom dancing, foxtrot, hip hop, or anything you can think of.
  • Yoga. Take a variety of yoga classes to see if this is your life’s calling.
  • Running. You can just run on your own and see how great it feels, or you can set a goal of training for a 5K and work your way up to a marathon.
  • Swimming. Not only is swimming a fantastic full-body workout, but you may find that your head clears and your body feels like it’s exactly where it’s supposed to be when you’re in the water. Swimming in a lake or an ocean can also make you feel more in touch with nature.

2- Explore your artistic side. You may have a wonderful artistic side without even knowing it. To explore your artistic side, you can try painting, writing, acting, singing, or designing clothes, just to name a few things. There are a number of things that you can do to find your inner-artist.

  • Play an instrument. Maybe you loved playing the piano when you were a kid and stopped. Give it another try.
  • Write. Try your hand at penning a play, poem, short story, or even a novel. You may find that you have more to say than you think.
  • Act. You don’t have to be Jennifer Lawrence to try acting, whether you just have fun staging a play with a few friends, or try to join a local theatre company.
  • Sing. If you’ve always had a passion for singing but never had time to share your voice with others, this is it. You can also join a chorus or an a cappella group if singing in a group is more your thing.
  • Draw, paint, or sculpt. Use a variety of tools to either sketch a drawing, paint a landscape, or create a sculpture. You may be able to find your true passion by working with your hands.

3- Pick up a new hobby. There are a variety of hobbies that may not require any athletic or artistic skill that can still turn into a passion for you. Whether you want to be a coin collector or pick up a new language, any new hobby you pursue can turn into a real passion for you. Here are some hobbies you can consider:

  • Bird watching. You can connect with nature while learning a lot about the animal kingdom. If you’re passionate about this, you can write a book or lead bird-watching expeditions.
  • Pet grooming. Maybe you’ve always loved pets — now is your time to turn your hobby into a full – time passion.
  • Learn a new language. You can pick up a language just for fun and then find that you’re living and breathing foreign words. Convert this to a passion by working as a translator or getting so absorbed in the foreign language that you read and watch movies only in that language or even move to a foreign country because of it.
  • Cooking. You may be taking your stellar cooking skills for granted. If you already love cooking, start watching more cooking shows, reading food blogs, and sharing your recipes with your friends and see if you can make your love for tasty cuisine into a full-time passion.

4- Get out of your comfort zone. If you’re having trouble finding your passion, it may be because you’re so used to doing the same old thing that you don’t have the guts to try anything new. If you really want to find your passion, then you’ll have to test yourself and step out of your comfort zone to find the thing that really appeals to you. Here are some things to try:

  • Try an extreme activity, such as bungee jumping, sky diving, or zip-lining. You may find a new love for this crazy thing.
  • Do something you don’t think you’re good at. If you think you’re a terrible dancer, cook, knitter, or writer, try spending one hour a week on this act. See if you’re not only not as bad as you think, but if you’re developing a real love for this activity.
  • If you’re artistically minded, try something more logical, like crossword puzzles or chess. If you’re very practical, try something artistic with less rigid rules, like oil painting or yodeling.
  • If you’re convinced that you’re tone deaf, pick up an instrument. Learn to play the piano, flute, or even the recorder and see how this opens up your world.

5- Travel. Traveling can be a great way to open up your world and find a passion with new eyes. Though your budget may restrict you from extensive traveling, you should do what you can to go to a completely new place and see a new way of living, eating, and breathing. Whether you’re traveling to a new state or across the world, this can help you find something that you’re passionate about.

  • You may find that your true passion is travel. If you find out that you have wanderlust, make the most of it and plan a yearly — or even a monthly — trip.
  • Take lots of photos when you travel. You may find that your new passion is photography.
  • Get inspired. Use your surroundings to find your passion. If you’re on a beach in Florida, you may find that your new passion is shell collecting; if you’re touring the Louvre in Paris, you may find that your new passion is fine art.

6- Volunteer in your community. Take the time to volunteer in your community, and you may find that you have a new passion. There are a variety of ways to volunteer in your community: you can help people develop their writing and reading skills at your local library, volunteer at your local soup kitchen, or help clean up a park in your community.

  • If you help clean up a park, you can find a new passion for gardening.
  • If you help people learn to read, you may develop a passion for teaching.
  • If you work at a homeless shelter, you may develop a love for helping people in need.
  • If you take a leadership role in a volunteering event, such as organizing people to work at a clothing drive, then you may find a passion for leadership.

7- Try new things with the help of others. You may have a friend who is obsessed with archery or creating comic books, or a family member who is the best dessert chef in the country. Let the people you know, or the teachers in your community, help you explore a new talent or passion.

  • Let one of your friends who is really passionate about something give you a tutorial, whether it’s robotics or flower arranging. Your friend’s passion for that thing will inspire you.
  • Have your family member introduce you to his favorite thing in the world, whether it’s fixing motorcycles, or fishing. You’ll be surprised by how passionate you may feel about something you knew about for years.
  • Take a class. Whether you’re taking an art class or a class on the history of the USSR, you may find that having a teacher or professional explain a concept to you ignites your passion. Sign up for any class that sounds intriguing, whether it’s at a community college, online, or at a local rec center, and prepare to be inspired.
  • Read. Reading a book by an expert in a certain field or a person who is truly passionate about something can help you ignite your own passion.
